The Genesis of « Tzoumy »

For this new newsletter, we are going to tell you where the name of the brand Tzoumy for our new models comes from.

The name Tzoumy comes from a mountain village in the Valais Alps called “La Tzoumaz” I replaced the terminal “az” by a “Y” which is the first letter of my first name.

As a child, I spent most of my holidays in a small chalet with my grandparents and now I return there occasionally to relax away from the noise and stress of the city. This peaceful place outside the village has changed very little in 50 years. It is still a place surrounded by meadows and forests with majestic pine and larch forests.

I remember moments of great freedom, days spent outside playing in the woods with the neighborhood children and evenings without television during which my grandparents told us their stories while we played cards.

This childhood spent between the countryside and the mountains surrounded by a protective family certainly shaped my free and independent spirit which has allowed me to start my own brand to create pentagonal watches.

These memories inspired me to create the Tzoumy brand, which embodies creative freedom and a strong identity. A brand that aims to offer sustainable products to the greatest number of people and to provide original alternatives to round or rectangular watches that represent the vast majority of timepieces currently available.
